
India is already under lockdown (partially) but even at this stage fresh confirmed cases of novel coronavirus in several states have taken the total in India over 400, even as authorities suspend all passenger train and inter-state bus services till March 31 and impose a lockdown in 80 districts.
The total number of reported novel coronavirus cases in the country took India’s tally to 419 on Monday morning with new cases from Maharshtra, Gujarat, Rajasthan and Bihar.
The Death Toll in India is 7 as reported on Sunday.
Maharashtra, which has been worst hit, has reported 15 new cases in the last 24 hours, taking the total of positive cases to 89 — highest number of confirmed coronavirus cases in India so far.
Gujarat reported five new cases on Monday, taking the total in the state to 23. The other states which reported new Covid-19 cases include Tamil Nadu (2) and Bihar (1).
As of Sunday, Maharashtra was followed by Kerala at 67 and Delhi (26). Uttar Pradesh recorded 29 cases, Telangana 27, Rajasthan 27 and Haryana 23.
Karnataka’s total number stood at 26 patients. Punjab saw 21 cases while Gujarat 18. Ladakh reported 13 cases, Tamil Nadu and West Bengal seven each. Chandigarh, Madhya Pradesh and Andhra Pradesh reported six cases each.
Jammu and Kashmir has reported four cases. Uttarakhand has reported four cases, while Bihar, Odisha and Himachal Pradesh reported two cases each. Puducherry and Chhattisgarh reported one case each.
