Sonam Kapoor On The Nepotism Debate: ‘Yes I Am Privileged, That’s Not An Insult’
Sonam Kapoor celebrated Father’s Day yesterday and took to her Instagram to talk about how her dad, Anil Kapoor and her father-in-law, Sunil Ahuja, have been super heroes in her life. While she was at it, she also expressed her opinions on the raging nepotism debate.
Sushant Singh Rajput‘s untimely demise opened a can of worms on nepotism in the industry. A lot of celebrities like Karan Johar, Alia Bhatt, and Salman Khan were pulled up and unfollowed on social media over the past week. Sonam has also been one of the actors to have been targeted for being a star kid. So, she took to her Twitter to post a thread about how she is her father’s daughter and that she is proud of it.
She also shared screenshots of vile comments she has been receiving and says that the same people who are talking about being kind to others are being extremely unkind. The actress signed off by saying that she hopes no one’s parents have to ever see such comments.
This is some of comments coming my way. All the media and all the people who’ve encouraged this sort of behaviour and instigated it. This is on you. People talking about how one should have been kind to someone are doing worse to others. pic.twitter.com/6rH4LSBOxp
